Football Recap: Oak Hills picks up third straight win on the road

Oak Hills put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Beaumont Cougars by a score of 28-19. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Oak Hills' defense and their three sacks. In that department, Sione Felila was the leader with two. Another thorn in Beaumont's side was Jacob Macias, who picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Despite the loss, Beaumont still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Duhu, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 144 yards and a touchdown on only 13 passes. The dominant performance gave Duhu a new career-high in rushing yards. A healthy portion of that aerial production (83 yards to be exact) went to Braedon Miller, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Oak Hills' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Beaumont, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-1 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Hills will face off against St. Bonaventure at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
